This company is homage to the woman that made me, raised me, loved me, and supported me—Betty Ann Turner, my mother. Over three generations of barbers and cosmetologists exist in my family, which created a solid foundation for a unique men's haircare line that uses natural ingredients only, highlights a transparent product development process, and fair pricing.
After graduating from Tennessee State University and attending graduate school for a year, I moved to Memphis, Tennessee in 2009 to become an educator. Although I was hundreds of miles away from my hometown of Milwaukee, Wisconsin, I felt at home as I began my new career. After a lifetime of wearing a mustache and goatee, I decided to try to grow a beard. It was rough. It was patchy. It was itchy. I did not know what beard products were effective or a waste of time. Over a decade and a half later, my beard is usually the first thing that people noticed about me. It's full. It's healthy. It shines; however, at times, I still felt unsure of what beard products are effective toward maintaining the health of my beard. Sometimes, it would get dry. I noticed a loss of fullness near the edges of it. At time, it would be tangled. Over the ywars, I tried everything: Scotch Porter, Evan Alexander, Bevel, SheaMoisture, Every Man Jack, Black Jamaican Castor Oil, tea tree oil, coconut oil, and more. They clogged my pores, caused acne underneath my beard, and didn't soften my beard throughout the day or solve my loss of fullness. Over the years, I explored every beard product available on Etsy and Amazon. As I began to conduct research on creating my own solution, I discovered the concept of turnkey businesses. These men's haircare companies aren't real. They don't create or make anything. Instead, they hire manufacturing labs to make their products, and they slap their fancy logos and labels on them. No one is doing anything different to really protect, grow, soften, and maintain the health of men's beards. Until now—
As a trained academic researcher and through consulting with professionals in the men's haircare industry, I learned the power of using skincare products, natural oils, and caffeine to soften your coarse hair, prevent dandruff, protect your skin underneath your beard, and promote beard growth while you sleep. Here's the added advantage of our products: We create them ourselves, one bottle at a time. In a society filled with artificial intelligence, robotics, and mass production, it's time we go back to the basics. That is, identify a problem that needs to be addressed, research potential solutions supported by science and nature, and provide a real solution in a real environment created by the real hands of people who care.
